Confined water training....with real students....

Initially tot that delivering confined water skills shgould be a breeze....since did it before in training...however somethings are very diff when delivering to actual students...as listed below:

  1. Students ego
Sometimes a student thinks he/she knows more than instructor...so tent not to listen or pay attention to briefing n training....end up kena repeat confined skills few times coz din do properly

  2. Students limits
Must know how much a student can take.....emotionally and physically.

  3. Mind reading
Be able to roughly know what's going inside the students's mind...whether he/she is scare, nervous, happy, emotional......etc.

  4. Know ur stuffs
Really have to know what u r talking when explaining diving theories. Also prepare to answer many questions regarding diving.....no wonder divemasters have to read encyclopedia.

  5. Demo water skills slowly n repeatly...eventhough u don feel well
No matter how tired are ur eyes...how bad the salt water is hurting it.....if the students din understand mask removal then u have to repeat doing it few times with a smile in ur face....heheheh

Overall...its not easy to teach students but its damm lots of FUN

You're damm right. Teaching beginners is NOT as easy as many perceived. You will only feel it when you have to deliver it personally. At times, it can be tiring, frustrated, annoying, distress or totally brain crash.

But, the reward is unforgettable. Example, seeing your diving student enjoys diving; telling you how fun is it and continuous thanks you for the coaching. That money can never buy.
